The Salter is where Ballard began. We put everything into this one knit. After a year of refining it with our small factory of just 14 knitters in Lima, Peru, we had something worth believing in.

Inspired by fisherman sweaters of the 1950s and '60s, and named after Salter Path, a small stretch of the Outer Banks along the North Carolina coast. We wanted it to feel just as at home there as it does in New York.

Knit from exceptionally soft, heavyweight Peruvian cotton in a substantial 3-gauge, fully fashioned shaker stitch. A conservative drop shoulder, roomy body, and slightly tighter tension at the cuffs and hem give the Salter its shape.

Take your typical sweater size, or size up for additional drape and a more pronounced drop shoulder.
