SALTER COTTON CREWNECK
The first piece we ever built.
We had the budget for one style and we put everything into this one sweater. After a year developing the shape, adjusting proportions, and sourcing the yarn and factory, we got it right.
Inspired by fisherman sweaters of the 50s and 60s and named after Salter Path, a small stretch of the Outer Banks along the North Carolina Coast. We wanted it to feel just as at home there as it does in New York.
We knit the Salter using a heavy but extremely soft cotton sourced from Peru. Some of the finest in the world. It's built using a classic shaker stitch and is fully fashioned with a conservative drop shoulder, a natural drape, and slightly tighter tension at the cuff and hem.
The fit is intentionally forgiving. Take your typical sweater size or size up for additional drape and a more pronounced drop shoulder.
